The beta version of the BBC Homepage is now public.

Maybe use a different font for the headings but after that it looks great! The clock in the top right is just excellent.

The jQuery form validation library is a great plugin to help validate forms on any webpage. It is cross-browser compatible and very flexiable. It uses the jQuery and prototype libraries and is very lightweight.

It will validate all types of form components and it can be easily customised if you have a little programming knowledge. For example I have included icons with all my failed validation message. I have also changed some of the script to validate different date formats too.

Try all the examples to see how powerful and flexible this plugin is. The link to information on formatting your forms is good also and is well worth a read.

While CSS can be used to create sexy websites, writing CSS can actually be an artform by itself. The way in which CSS is created, structured, and maintained can be a thing of beauty.

I’ve just read an article by Jina Bolton who spoke about some CSS tips she got from surveys with 12 top designers.
